What to pack for a river rafting trip
Each raft gets a waterproof barrel (about 60 liters) to store all personal items. This barrel is shared between two people. You are more than welcome to strap things onto the boat itself, just keep in mind that it will get wet. It is important to pack light and only take the essentials with you. If you take a trip where a resupply is possible, you can request that some of your things be brought with to the resupply point. You can also send things back to basecamp at the resupply point. This works well if you want to restock on snacks or clean clothes.
Remember: no glass is allowed on the river. All drinks should be in cans, plastic bottles or boxes.

River rafting essentials
Sun protection is the most important thing to take with you on the river. Lots of sunscreen, a wide brimmed hat and a long sleeved shirt will save you from painful sunburns. It is also important that you take at least 2 liters of water for every day you’ll be on the river.
Tips for packing
It can be daunting when it’s time to pack for a trip like this. Don’t worry! We’re here to guide you. It is important that you don’t bring too much clothes. During the day we recommend you wear swimwear and a long sleeved shirt to keep the sun off. Keep one set of dry clothes in your barrel to wear in the evenings. Your wet clothes will dry overnight and be ready for you to wear again the next day.
Try to bring only the essential toiletries: a small container of biodegradable soap, a toothbrush/toothpaste and toilet paper is all you need. It can also be helpful to only bring one set of toiletries between the two people on a raft, for example only one tube of toothpaste to share. This helps to maximize your space.
Remember to bring plastic bags to line your barrel with. The barrels are waterproof, but extra precaution won’t hurt. It also helps to organize your clothes in plastic shopping bags for easier accessibility.
Always remember enough sunscreen and plenty of water!
